Precision Dog Crate

This is Duke — aka Dukie, pig dog or rat dog.  We aren’t sure how old he really is because he was a rescue dog and was found abandoned in a field. However, when we took Duke to the vet, the vet suspected that he was two, and now Dukie is about six. A family friend found him and knew that my mom had been looking for a dog, so she called my mom and told her about a cute little white dog that needed a home. My mom went down that day to visit the little white dog and fell in love with him. Ever since then he has been an amazing addition to our family. We have had dogs all my life but Duke is the first little dog we’ve had. Duke is the most unique and interesting dog I have ever met, as well as the biggest snuggler in the world. If he is anywhere near you, chances are he is either in your lap or right next to you (unless he is sunbathing outside or in his precision dog crate).

Unlike most dogs, Duke doesn’t find the idea of playing catch intriguing. In fact, his idea of catch is you fetching. He has a chest of doggie toys all to himself that is so full it overflows. He loves to play with  squeaker dog toys– in fact, one game that he plays is, “see if I can rip the squeaker out.” As soon as the squeaker is out, the toy has lost its value to him. Duke is a very friendly dog. He loves people and children, although I think children freak him out a little bit because they stand at his level, and he is so used to everyone being so much bigger than him.

Dukie has a girlfriend named Tinkerbell, who is a little white Pomeranian that lives down the road. If he escapes, which he sometimes does, the first place we look is at her house where he is nine times out of ten. He also has two best friends, Millie and Murphy, who are golden retrievers that live on three acres of doggie paradise with tons of stuff to roll, sniff and play in. Dukie also has a little fiend named Rosebud who he does not get to see very much because she lives in the Bay Area. She is a little French Bulldog that I sometimes doggie-sit, and is the sweetest thing in the world.
